What Do We Really Need?
And my God will liberally supply (fill until full) your every need according to His riches in glory in Christ Jesus.
Phillipians 4:19(amp)
I am so grateful that we serve a God who knows exactly what we need and we need it. He has shown himself strong on my behalf over and over again. He doesn’t need our help as it pertains to meeting our needs but I believe that there is a certain level of accountability that we have to assume when it come to accessing God’s divine provision.
Let me explain where I’m going with this. And I’ll use myself as example:
I need rest BUT I tend to spend time scrolling on social media at night
I need improved health BUT I tend to make not so healthy food choices and I don’t like to work out
I need direction BUT at times I allow other things to get in the way of time in the Word and in prayer
I need peace BUT at times I allow doubt, fear, and worry to creep in and control my thoughts
I need financial freedom BUT I don’t always commit to my budget
I could go on but I think you get my drift. I’m ok with putting myself on display if it will help someone else identify any existing roadblocks to receiving God’s provision.
So what do we really need? We need to be mindful of our choices and our decisions. We also need to start creating new habits and patterns. Finally we need to understand that God’s plan for our life will always prevail. He doesn’t need our help but He wants to be in relationship with us so we need to become a part of the solution!
